Default Wheels for Silver TA (poll)

Well, I setup a poll, but since several of you may not visit many of the other areas of the forum very often (like myself), I thought I would link to my poll here so my Texas buds could post up your opinions on the wheels I'm considering.

Here's the poll in the Wheels & Tire Section.

Thanks for your input.

I was thinking more people would like split spokes or mesh on a Trans Am. Everyone & their grandma seem to gravitate to simple 5 star designs. Those are nice looking wheels tho, thus why they made it to my list.

I like many spokes on silver T/As like the Fikse FM10s.

I think they would look better on silver than any other color TA simply because black & silver contrast well together. Although, I hate red cars, blacked out wheels look good with red.

Some of those look too euro to match well on a Firebird. BMW yes, Firebird no.

Gay? What are you running? GM wheels? Welds? TT2? Is it so bad to try to break the mold of the more common wheels?

Actually, about half of them look just like the high dollar wheels everyone gets a hard on about or their cheaper replicas.

Lots of fbod folks like Evo's/FM10/Senekas.....wheel 2 & 8 are really close to those.

Wheel 4 looks like a FM5/Aero/9 out of 10 other 5 star wheels.

Wheel 7 looks like a Classic without the rivets and a couple other split spoke designs. These are also Indy 500 wheels by name & are actually licensed by the Indy 500.

Wheel 1 resembles the Privat Profil which lots of fbods run...

So, 3, 5, & 6 look Euro IMO. On the fence with 1 being Euro.

Funny thing is, the same HRE styles that folks really like are used on all types of cars, Euro or American. Just because some of these are made to fit a BMW doesn't mean they won't look good on cars that aren't European.

The good thing is, we can all come here to express our opinions. While I respect yours, I must disagree & also disagree with your taste in wheels.

A) I can't stand Boyd so I'd never buy his product, even if it was a HRE clone for 1/2 the price @ the same quality.
B) Smooties look too much like TT2's which are pretty common among fbodies.
C) I think they look great, but like I said, I want my car to have some wheels that aren't as common. It's not that I don't like them or think they look good...

I like when people come up & ask what kind of wheels I have & tell me they have never seen them before. I just don't like rolling up to a car meet & seeing 3-4 different style/finish Vette replicas on fbodies.

Honestly, I wish a lot of these wheel vendors would make more wheels geared to American muscle cars with out exact lug patten & with wider rims to boot.

You have to admit, when it comes to fbody wheels, we are rather limited if you take GM style wheels out of the equation.

Man, I just looked at the Indy 500 in chrome....man it's a sweet *** wheel.

It's not apples to apples, but for a man on a budget, you get about the same look from either. It's just that some folks are all too caught being brand ****** to consider some of the alternatives.

Anyhow, I'll post up lots of pics no matter which wheels I go with, maybe you'll like em better on the car than a bare pic. In the mean time, if you have any other suggestions for wheels that come in 18x9.5-ish sizes & can be had for under $1500, by all means I'm open for suggestions
