Default My Son Joined the Marines

As the title says he took his physical and swore in yesterday. Since he is a senior he will not leave until July 7th, after basic he will go to Pensicola to train in Avionics. I'm very proud of him.

I really have alot of respect for anyone in the armed forces, my dad is a marine. I have alot of respect for all the vets out there, would like to say props and shake their hand, I have a lot of friends that served in Iraq

And you should be proud of him. Heckova decision on his part. The Marines don't play. This coming from a former squid.

I was in Pensacola, Fl after bootcamp learning Hydraulics and Pneumatics. For a father its probably more comforting knowing he's in a aviation field and not a grunt. Congrats though, he'll do a lot of growing in the military

i FEEL BETTER KNOWING HE IS NOT GOING TO BE FRONT LINE. He will be in Iraq or Afganistan according to the Recruter. I guess he will be a little safer.

I went through same training in Pensacola with marines. Hopefully he wont get sent to NAS lemoore, CA like I did. What a Sh**Hole! I served 5 years 2 tours to Persian Gulf an Iraq. He is in good hands and his training will prepare him more than enough to deal with the environment he will be working in. If he is going to Iraq or Afganhistan he will probably be more safe than he would eing on an aircraft carrier in the aviation field since he is not on front lines. He is an unsung hero. It made me a lot better person .
