Another one, my old Formula (9.8s on nitrous now) for $20K. This car is mostly brand new parts still, the guy that bought it didn't run it much at all.

XplicitPerformance, it would take more than a tranny and street motor to make it streetable again. Not worth it in my opinion.

MADMAN, no, I haven't posted it on RacingJunk.com because from some have said, I'd be wasting my time. I guess it wouldn't hurt to.

Ben R, although a nice ride, it takes a lot more money to build a naturally aspirated low 9 second Camaro than it does with nitrous. I didn't take any short cuts and I didn't skimp on any parts.

Nine Ball, we're talking about a high 9 second car on dope with $25k invested versus a low 9 second car naturally aspirated with over $40k invested.

Guys, I really don't want this to turn into a big arguement or debate, I was simply asking what you considered a roller. Not what you feel is considered a good price for my car. You can't compare other cars to mine. I completely understand that I will not get what I put into it. If that was the case, take the $30k that was spent on the car, then the $40k we invested into it, and you're looking at $70k. I don't have that price tag on it.

Anyhow, I appreciate all of your help. I will post it on a couple of more places, give it more time, if nothing comes up, it's going to be parted out. I hate to do that, but I'm probably better off doing it that way.

I can promise you he has $40k in that car. Good luck parting your car out.

Don't be so naive Jeramy, I had almost $32K invested in that car WITHOUT the engine when I sold it. I sold it for $20K with a heads/cam engine, this guy bought it from the guy I sold it to, he has $25K in it now. You couldn't build it for $25K, I know that for a fact. Got the receipts to prove it. The chassis on that Formula is top-notch and has the best parts under it, and it is certified for 7.50 ET or slower. I'm sure you know what it takes to get to that spec, it isn't cheap.

Plus, it looked badass

Drag post it on Racingjunk. You will reach more potential buyers that way.

Nine Ball, Tony, I'm not being naive, it just eats me up that I ask a simple question for clarification on what's considered a roller and it starts a war on how I should price my car, comparing it to others.

Mr Powell, yeah yeah yeah. You had a HUMONGOUS shot of nitrous on it too.

MADMAN, that was one of the site I intended on putting it on. Again, if I don't get any bites, it will be parted out.

Thanks everyone.

That may be the case, however if you two had lined up at the track, his would have gotten the light at the end of the winner's tunnel.

Just keep the car and put it on the street as is!!

Randy_S, unless he was sleeping at the tree. I have the reaction time of a pro, haha. My car left nasty though. Too bad I never got it dialed back in. Again, I'd have way too much to do for it to be safe and legal again, I don't even want to waste my time.

Black2001z06, thanks.

True, I had $40k in my old 91 LX Coupe and sold it for $15k. It was supercharged, built motor/trans/rear end, spotless interior, cage, suspension, fuel system. The works.

A "roller" may or may not have interior or a fuel system. I'd say it must have a suspension to be considered a "roller".
Like others have said...no engine, transmission or driveshaft. "Engine" could include radiator, fans, etc.

Only 11 out of the 37 posts anwered the original question. The rest talked about how I should price my car, how it compares to others, etc. C'mon guys, drop it already. I got the answer I needed.

There isn't a standardized definition, Drag. Just be specific on what the car has and what it doesn't. Stock, aftermarket, home made. List everything, and then note what exactly it would take to get it running.

To stay off topic, you'll probably get more by selling every little thing separate. However, don't be "that guy" trying to sell his completely gutted race car shell/roller for 5k, "since its an SS."

Good luck,
Ryan
