A/C Work I just need to see where the leak is. I know its a o-ring. I bought some of that UV stuff however I can not put any in due to the fact I need to do a evac.
Need someone to do a simple evac replace bad oil ring and recharge on a 1999Tahoe. I am located in NW Houston.

I can damm near promise you it's the compressor. Look at the middle of it on the bottom where the case halves come together. Then look at the bracket under it if there is oil and green dye it's the compressor. I have had bunch of these throught the shop and the compressors are crap. The second place they love to leak is the suction discharge hose assembly. Pull back the split loom on the line that runs forward to the condensor and look for oil. If there is plan on changing that also. The hoses for some reason love to turn into a sieve and just start pissing oil and refrigerant everywhere.
My bad since there is not dye in it just look for lots of oil and dirt accumulation in the above mentioned places.

A/c stuff is pretty simple to work on. Fix what ever is leaking before the compressor goes bad though. If its the compressor just change it. Make sure you vacume pump the system and change the orifice tube and the dryer. The post above about it probly being the compressor is correct. But check the lines also in the rubber section first. You can get the line set from napa for like $47 if thats what it is.
