Default Any one Seen or Tried (Vibrant performance's) Fuse1x filler rod

I just want to know if anyone has tryed this fuse line of products. I'm thinking of trying the fuse 1x to repair my fubar'd exhaust manifold bolt holes on my 5.3liter aluminum heads. Any input?

Does anyone have any experience brazing a messed up bolt hole in an aluminum cylinder head? I'm gonna talk to the welding supply store tommorrow to see what they have. The machine shop wants 175 to weld the hole up and drill and tap it. I have a wire feed and oxy/acety torch set and I'm no stranger to welding. But brazing is my least experienced topic. So i'm not scared to try and braze it / fill the hole up and re tap and drill it. Just wondering whats a good rod or any advice. Thanks

Why not drill, heli-coil and save yourself issues in the future?

It's completly messed up. It's a big gapping hole. That has to be welded/filled in and completly redrilled and tapped.

just tig weld it using regular aluminum tig rod, if you must gas weld it use a nuetral flame with a single aught tip on a henrob torch

There's a product that I have used before. I think it's called Durafix. After porting my throttle body I used it to fill in the IAC cavity instead of using an epoxy. It's a bit hard when cooled but I guess no harder than steel. I never used it on a head bolt hole in a block, but if done correctly it would work so long as it's not a high performance application... then all bets are off.

I'm just trying to avoid paying 150-175 to the machine shop.

I will just wait for this fuse 1x to be available. If I'm gonna do the repair my self. I seen the videos of this stuff and it seem to be good, plus I trust vibrants quality of products.

Any opinions on using a spool gun wire feed set up to weld it ?

You might want to think twice about using a brazing rod on an exhaust manifold hole. It doesn't take much heat to get that AL flowing again (~300*F) and I would think there'd be enough heat in the exhaust port to get the new metal at least soft if not molten.
