Default Welder\Plasma combo

Thinking about getting a tig welder\plasma combo to practice with in the garage on bits of scrap metal. I saw a few of these on Ebay and wanted to know what the welders on here thought.

I have nothing at the moment Gary, but since I insist on working on my own projects, got to have one.

Save your money and get a Miller..... Once you start "practicing" you'll end up loving welding and have wasted your money on those chinese welders. Plus if you buy one and not like welding you can still get close to all your money back reselling it, try that with those chinese welders...... Just my opinion but i hate seeing people throw money away..... MILLER!!

do you want a tig or plasma cutter? if you want both in miller get about 3k to pay for them. i have a hobalt mig ( iron man one and i love it). but go into the feedback section of the ebay ad and find people that bought them and ask how they perform. i did that for these about a half year ago and all the people said they work good. this is just my .02 cents

I personally have a miller251 mig ,Lincoln Squarewave 175( got for free from my father in law) and a Thermal arc Plasma cutter. But to start practicing at home i would buy a miller 185 for sure. If i remember correct they're around $900 new and $600 if you can find someone on craigslist selling one. But whatever you do BUY A MILLER. Im pretty sure miller makes a "Hobart" and sells it under that name threw sears.

I have heard great things about Miller and Hobart. What about Lincoln or Eastwood? They had a Mig\Plasma cutter for under a thousand.
