Default PlastiDip on jack stands?

I've seen those plastic top covers for jack stands and was curious if something like PlastiDip could be used on the stands instead. I'm just looking for something to help with grip and help prevent scratching things up under there. Thoughts?

My friend did it. He only did one coat and it just kind of came off after the first use. I guess if you put multiple coats on, it might work.

I guess I might as well try the PlastiDip to see...and if it doesn't work out I can swing by HF to snag some up. Thanks

I think no matter how thick you apply plasti-dip, it will wear off. I usually just grab some cardboard or something and stick between.

another method is those rubber disks that some people use to grip the top of a jar to help them spin it off

The roll on or dip types of the plasti-dip would work. the paint/aerosol style probably wont hold up to contact.

try the spray on duplicolor bed liner and avoid the plastidip, either one will still flake off after a time or 2 though.

I just use shop rags myself. The Harbor freight ones will work if you want to get fancy.

Just get some Prothane urethane Jack Stand Pads and a jack pad, that's what I've been using for yrs.

I use some old thick astroturf on the floorjack pad and wrap the candlestick tops with astroturf and tie it on with safety wire or zipties . Works well and last a decent length of time. Hockey Pucks work well for low dollar motor/mount pads and jacking/jackstand pads if you have the style with large flat tops. They can slide on the jackstand application.

Just drive it up on the curb like my neighbors. No need for a pesky jack or stands in that case.
