Just finished a spring swap on my car using this tool. Worked perfectly, even on a 98 car with perimeter valve cover bolts.

Tim was very helpful with shipping as well. Stand-up guy with a great tool!

NOSJohn - I sent you a PM with my shipping address.

Formulated - If you don't find one I can overnight one to you, but you will have to add $ 15.00 extra to the $ 30.00 and payment will have to be via PayPal. Just let me know as I usually ship our tools USPS priorty mail which takes 2-3 days

When changing valve springs, what is the easiest way to determine if the piston is at the top?

I've sean the:
1. close line rope in the cylinder trick and
2. the compressed air in the spark plug hole trick too.

I assume it is easiest to change springs when you know the piston is at the top and tht it will prevent the valves from dropping down into the holes when you remove the spring keepers.

On the older Gen 2 small blocks and earlier you could tell by looking at the crankshaft pulley but since reluctors and PCMs have been adeveloped crankshaft pulleys are now pressed on and do not have degree markings...

Tim,
Is there anyway you can charge me and send off say 8 or 10 of the bolts? I cant find anything to replace mine on this island and would like to make my swaps quicker yet maintain my tool of choice. Please let me know. Everything has been sweet through 12 or more spring swaps but I would appreciate being able to just pay for some extra bolts.

We had them custom made at a specialty shop and they were rather expensive and required a minimum order etc. For that reason we can only include them with the tool. As you know, the studs are VERY durable and should last for MANY spring changes. John
