You arent kidding ,$48.00 bucks.Pretty nice though ,made out of Stainless and all,But Yes you are Correct just a tad more than I wanted to spend....

dunno what you are doing exactly, but another option is to use a 3/8" adapter to 1/2, then 1/2 back to 3/8". Ive done this before in a tight space where i needed something shorter then a 3" extension.
