Martha Stewart's $80 gear puller Well, I bought one of these this weekend for $80 bucks at my local Sears store.
It worked flaulessly. Using it made me question why I ever used any of those cheapie gear pullers....
Great product but a tad pricie in my book...

The reason that you bought 'those cheapie gear pullers' in the past is because you are are one of those 'Harry Homeowner' type mechanics that does not really care if his tools come from a Professional Tool Supplier or China... Just so long as they are 'fully polished' and CHEAP...
Glad to see Sears is still getting your $$$ (especially since you talk so much about how crappy and 'inferior' their tools are)

Man - you guys are rough!
My neighbor with the Snap-On franchise says Sears blows! He used to race nitro dragsters in the early sixties with Prudome so he can't be a total dope; right?
Anyway ...he claims to loose little business from Sears. I assume the Snap-On guys don't shop much at Sears right?
His motto: Real Mechanics don't use junk tools like Sears and Stanley!
His gear pullers start at $300. SO "Cheap" is in the eye of the beholder. To him the Sears pulley is a cheap tool!

I use snap on when I'm on the Naval JRB, but thats about it.
Cheap is a relative term. I've never had sears turn me away from repalcing something that I've broken of theirs, and I've broken roughly the same amount of snapo-on tools at the JRB while working on my cars. Take that as you will, but fwiw I'll keep buying Sears til I bank high five figures.

300 bucks.... Mr snap on can kiss my ***.
My pulley puller was just under 100 dollars and works great every time.
I have used it 20+ times with no complaints.

The 'Rough' part is having to listen to you constantly trash Sears tools...
and then you turn around and tell us about the new Sears tools that you bought from them...

When I used to turn wrenches for $$$ I bought alot of Snap on definatley the best stuff but in my opinion unless you are banking serious $$$ Sears stuff is plenty good they have the same warranty and you allways know where the Sears store is to get a replacement. If you break the Snap on stuff you either gotta wait a week till he comes back or chase his *** all over town. I gotta get my $300 (in '92) Snap on tourque wrench calibrated and it's gonna cost me $150 is that fair? But I'm gonna pay it gotta build a SBC in the next couple of weeks here gotta have it right.
