group discounts for ls1tech members would be awesome! |
They don't offer special discounts, you just need to keep an eye on their sales. I've bought some really nice stuff at good sale prices. |

cool, probably get some stuff before too long. |
You just have to watch out for their insane shipping fees |
They have big stationary Ingersoll-Rand air compressors with free shipping. |
northern tools is great. same stuff as snapon and matco and mac but with a different name plate and half the price. |
Sorry suburban, SnapOn, Matco and Mac aren't even the same stuff. Teacher |
actually snap on and the others dont make there own air tools. Its some other brand with there lable on it. |
true, I was referring to the majority of their hand tools. I think a single company also makes double box end ratcheting wrenches for all the tool brands too. |
ingersoll rand makes most of the air tools....most are just rebadged. Now hand tools like sockets, wrenches, pry bars, ratchets, extensions, etc. are made individually |
There is alot of Chinese stuff in the stores & catalog, similar to Harbor Freight, but there are some great values there. If you know the diff between Snap-On and Chinese, you can really stretch a dollar to fill up the vacant drawer in your tool chest. My last large tool purchase was Northern in Houston. Wheel dollies, furniture dolly (for rolling the engine/tranny around), shop rags & jackstands were particular prizes of my last spree. Candy store with a little coke sprinkled on, VERY addictive. |
Hell all my tools are Northern, Harbor Freight, Craftsman, Snap-On, Matco, & Etc. You know what the only difference is in the tools??? Just the damn warranty. The only reason I buy Snap or a more expensive brand is if they make something the cheaper brands don't make for example, Cordless Testlight. I abuse the crap out of my tools too because I work in Diesel. Don't ever feel hesitant to buy cheap tools because if you break them, who cares. Your only out a few bucks & plus most hand tools are lifetime warranty irregardless of the brand. I got at least $8000 invested in tools excluding my $4000 matco box, you can't tell me anything about using a cheap tool. Except for a cheap electric drill & a Digital Multi-Meter, real mechanics know what i mean. |
