Default Here's a trick when buying tools from Harbor Freight

Harbor Freight has different catalogs depending on whether you're a preferred customer or not. I believe you pay $20 for a preferred customer membership per year.

The trick to getting cheaper prices is the part numbers. They're all the same with the exception of one number. Here's an example:

Do a search for "2 HP, 4 GALLON PANCAKE COMPRESSOR" This part number is 139.99

You'll notice the number before the "VGA" can be changed. If you look up 38898-0VGA, the price is 99.99. This is the exact same product as 38898-3VGA. Generally the lower the number is the lowest price.

061-723-858 is for free shipping. Expires 7/1/03. Handling will always be 5.95.

I take that back..... After playing with it for a while, I did find some that work. I'm taking it you have to click on the 'order from printed catalog' button. It doesn't seem to work with everything and the online catalog has some better prices on a few things, but it does work on some items. At least now I don't feel like a total retard anymore......

Also the digit in front of the 3 letters will vary. 0 isn't always the lowest and 5 isn't always the highest.

Dear Pacman,

I would just like to say THANK YOU very much!!! I just saved over $65 on some new tools for my garage. It took me a little while to catch on, but I got a handle on it now.

Thank you again,
JR
