Vista: It's not out to the public yet guys, but MS did release a RC1 [Release Candidate 1] for people to test out... I got mine from MS directly as their QA Tester..
Vista is GREAT.. even in it's beta form, it only crashed once in the past 4 months of regression testing.. I had some issues with AMD processors, but Pentiums have been great so far.. This issue *should* have been resolved with RC2, but I was not involved in testing that release..
Vista is a MEMORY HOG, so if you have less than 1 GB RAM, don't bother with Virtual PC.. it'll slow everything down to a near halt!
Download RC1 [I recommend this over RC2 for now]
Vista RC1 Build 5600
PS: They have RC2 out too and is available for Public Download.
Download RC2Vista Release Candidate 2 Build 5744
I STRONGLY suggest using Vista at this point as experimental only... even though it works just as stable as XP and will recognize most, if not all, hardware.. I still would not use it as my primary OS
Finally, if you don't have a DVD Burning software, google imgburn and use it... it's free, works great, and also does not have the 2 GB ISO image limit like NERO. You will NOT be able to burn the ISO image thru Nero 6 or 7
Set it up as a dual boot and enjoy!!
Or, download Virtual PC 2004 [free now from MS] and install it that way..
Have fun
