Re: Site Speed - Feedback Thread Its "crawling" because I just spent the last 3 hours writing and coding the hack for this Fast Reply at the bottom. Whenever I am editing and changing the control files, it always slows the site down.
Go ahead and let me know when it is FAST. This thread isn't just for the slow reports.

Re: Site Speed - Feedback Thread I've been watching the data transfer with a little monitor from over at www.analogX.com. It's called netstat live and you can watch the data flow as it happens. I have noticed that at this site you hit the thread opening page comes right up. Then it waits for a little while, and when it starts to move the thread it hauls ***.
I hit a couple of other sites and when you you hit a thread the the page comes up and the data transfer starts right away.
I'm wondering of your site is waiting for the whole request to be put together before sending and the others are set to start the transfer while gathering?
I'm just wondering....like setting a printer to spool the whole print job before sending it to the printer.

I get the Main Index real quick, a forum category quick, but it takes quite some time before it pulls up a thread after I click it. 
And it's just this site.

Re: Site Speed - Feedback Thread Mine seems faster than the guys on cable and DSL who are complaining here, and mine is 56K. I never get 404 errors, and replies go thru in about 2 seconds. The main page takes about 10 seconds to load, and everything else is faster. Before this quick reply was added, I would have to wait about 15 or 20 seconds for the reply page to load all the smilies, but now the quick reply is here and it kicks ***.

Re: Site Speed - Feedback Thread We have been making changes, probably a few a day for the last week so I am guessing that the average speed is much faster, and the the site has a whole is much easier to use and to navigate.
We're getting help and input from other users of the same software, so hopefully we can see some of that fast as lightning site speed that they rave about.
