Post count stopped now search won't work
 

Hey, admins or anyone else wondering if you could help me out at all with this. A few days ago I saw that my post count stopped at 159 (I really don't care about that) but after that if I would click on my name and choose "find all post" it won't show anything I have posted after 3/10/08. Just wondering it is something on my side that I can fix and also if there is anyone else having a similar problem?

well only certain sections count posts, its in a sticky somewhere, and the search thing i have that problem too, but i dont know what the solution is, might be in the search sticky i havent looked yet.

Two separate problems. Like he said, some sections don't count (always read the stickies before posting), but sometimes it takes the search server a while to refresh the database. Then, Brains goes over and kicks it and it works again. It's annoying, but you know how it goes.

I know that some sections don't count post but it seemed like as soon as the counter stopped the search thing happened but it was probably was just a coincidence. Thanks for the info.

There's an issue in the indexer, that I'm still in the process of tracking down -- in order to prevent any damage to the search index, I have a trigger in the code to stop it. The only problem, is I forgot to add in an emailer to let me know when that happens :lol:

That's fixed in the latest trunk, but that revision is not in production yet.
