Default pop-ups

Are the perennial pop-ups that appear only when I navigate THIS site, by design?

I've never seen a pop-up here. :p

What type of stuff are the ones you see for?

Try Avant Browser and see if that helps. www.avantbrowser.com . It's basically IE with a few tweaks, a pop up blocker being the best one. Oh and it's free.

If that doesn't help get a free spyware scanner and run it on your computer. Lots of stuff can sneak on without you ever knowing if your security isn't tight.

I have my cookies set so I'm asked to accept or deny them before they are saved on my computer. A good firewall(ZoneAlarm is decent) will help you keep an eye on things too.

Some of the ads are for pop-up prevention! Others for mortgages. I'm not sure why they only appear when I'm on LS1tech. It could be related to the many links I visit from this site. Thanks for the info. Glenn

There are NO pop-ups generated from this site.

Most pop-ups people are getting now come from Mircrosofts built in messenger service ( not the instant messenger).

Oh yeah, turn that messenger deal off. There was a post in the Lounge about a week or so ago about how to do that.

Pop-ups suck -- but there's none coming from here Its either the evil that is Microsoft, or some ad-ware that got installed on your machine. Try googling for 'adaware' and run that, see what you find.
