LS Engine?: Car has LS engine

I have a nice 04 GTO roller. Yellow with black leather and auto. Gto is a very nice roller (no engine or trans) engine wiring harness is still there. Paint and interior are in very good condition. Only flaw I can find is a small crack in the windshield. Pic's will be added tomorrow. I have a Clear title. Please no tire kicker's. Asking $6500 firm. Would do some trading on a nice 4X4 ATV.

Alright I just seen this car was forsale, Its a very nice roller, Wish I couldve gotten it, But if you dont mind could you answer a ? for me. Why would someone pull the engine an trans out of such a clean car then let it go? Im just curious sitting here with my wife looking at the ad an figured Id ask the ? I bought the GTO as you see it (I have no history about the car). I had plans to give this to my wife, but I bought her a lexus and don't have time to get it running. GTO is still for sale.

Ive got a fresh LS1/M6 pullout that would drop right in this for $3800. with ecm, pedals, shifter etc....
