LS Engine?: Car has LS engine
I am currently preparing to transition out of the active duty military back into civilian life. While there is nothing more I would like than to keep the TA, it is just smarter right now for me to part with her.
Firstly, car is a '99 Pewter Trans am. 81k miles, A4, black leather. Runs flawlessly. Interior and exterior in good condition.
There are a couple of minor issues with the car, and I will begin with them. I wish I could just repair the items myself, but I dont have the time or funds to do so at the moment. I am being 100% honest about the flaws, and i gurantee no dissapointment upon looking it over and test driving it.
Car has normal LS1 valvetrain noise from the lifters, nothing out of the ordinary.
Rearend is making noise. has the classic wah wah wah sound under load. I replaced the right rear wheel bearing last weekend. Did not fix the issue, leading me to believe it is the carrier bearing that needs replaced. I have never done differential work, and do not feel like starting now.
Passenger side window just stopped working, intermittently, two days ago. Needs motor repaired or replaced.
Passed side door panel has infamous crack.
The tsp Y pipe was a terrible fit, an issue countless people have had with their catted Y. I tucked it up as best I could, but the clearance is still shotty. I have dragged the exhaust a few times, and have a slight leak somewhere in the piping as a result. Barely noticeable.
Car was backed into at literally 1 MPH by an elderly lady at a gas station a few months back. Spider webbing and chipping in the clear and base coat on the front bumper cover was the result.
EXTREMELY unnoticeable crease on the drivers side quarter panel. It litterally took me 10 tries to capture it in an image. Needed proper lighting and angle to even see it. This occured while the car was parked, all alone, in the back of buffalo wild wings parking lot.
Other than those issues, car runs, operates, and appears flawless.
I purchased the car while deployed a couple of year ago. Last summer I installed every modification on the car. Very tastefully modded. Suspension set up for autocross, and it does exceptionally well in that aspect as well as straight line performance. Mods are as follows:
Texas Speed stainless headers - $410
Texas speed Catted Y pipe - $350
SLP LM1 - $400
LS6 intake - $350
SLP lid w/K&N filter - $150
Shraner ported and polished throttle body - $300?

!egr
full dyno tune by Finish Line Performance. Made 328/342 at the tires. Ran 3 passes total at the track with a best of 12.767
Koni SA shocks - $850
Strano springs - $250
Strano hollow sways - $370
UMI double adjustable lower control arms w/dual roto joints - $250
UMI weld in relocation brackets - $80
UMI tubular weld in subframe connectors - $160
BRAND NEW BFG Sport Comp 2 255 tires all around. Can't say enough good things here. Unbelivale dry AND wet performance for a street tire. - $600+
As you can see, car has over $4,000 worth of quality parts installed. $2,000 of that in suspension alone. Again, anybody who knows suspension producats knows that this setup is top of the line and makes all the difference in these f-bodies.
Interior is in very good condition. Normal wear and tear on drivers side seat bolster. As metioned above, crack in passenger side door panel and issue with passenger side window motor. Otherwise flawless.
Car has never been beat on. I religiously change the oil every 3k miles with German Castrol syntec. Hardly any metal on magnet at each change. Also, gears and everything in diff looked great when I replaced the wear bearing recently.
Really a strong running, good contdition Trans Am. I feel you will be VERY hard pressed to find a car in this condition, tastefully modded, at the price I'm willing to sell for. That is, of course, if you're prepared to replace/have replaced the carrier bearing.
I apologize for the cell phone pics, although with the progression of cell phone cameras, i doubt most will be able to tell the difference.

Price is 6500 firm. Offer me less, I will remove your ********* through your mouth. Kidding......but seriously.
Car is located in Lakewood, Washington. Just south of Tacoma. 45 minutes south of Seattle and 2 hours North of Portland.
Any questions, Pm me or shoot me a text at 219-741-4270.
Thanks.

I have to agree. Can't believe the interest hadn't been higher...
Bump for a fantastic car. This is a turn key, solid autocross performer. You will be hard pressed finding something at any local event turning better times. If you can drive, that is
Can't tell you guys how much fun it is to leave sti's, evo's, 911's, etc in your rear view. The look on their faces is priceless.

On a side note, if the car doesn't sell by July, I will be driving it back home to Indiana. A little close if your still in the market at that time!

Don't let the flaws shy you away because of abuse. Car is extremely well maintained. Only person I know that ALWAYS lets the car warm up until the t-stat opens....even in the dead of summer. Very meticulous about how I treat my vehicles.

Bump.
Amazes me there are cars on here with 100k miles, asking 9-10 grand, and recieving more interest.
With the quality parts on here, im basically asking $2,500 for the vehicle itself!
