LS Engine?: Car has LS engine
Last week as I was driving home from work it developed a bad misfire. I had a mechanic check it out and he found cylinder #5 has no compression. There are no oil leaks, and no smoking while it's running, but it does have low oil pressure (about 15psi at idle). It does fire right up and drives, but without cylinder #5. He removed the valve covers and everything looks fine. He thinks it could a lifter or piston rings, but said it could be a number of things.
I don't have the time or money to invest into this car anymore. Until now it has been a very reliable car. I still need to move, and need to get a daily that's better on gas and is more comfortable for a family of four, so I need to get rid of this.
It is a 98 TA, auto, white, and 188023 miles on the chassis. The transmission has between 50k-60k on it. The engine was rebuilt around 35k-40k miles ago. I have all of the build paper work on the engine including the comp cam all aftermarket parts used on it. The body is in great shape, but could use some paint correction in a few areas. Rear tires(275/45/17) have less than 5000 miles. It has the polished ws6 wheels from the earlier ws6's on the rear and the factory 16 's in the front(also have the other two factory 16's). Also, has new front and rear kyb shocks with less than 3000 miles. Has an Optima red top, slp lid, blackwing filter, and slp maf. It just passed smog a few weeks ago and registration is paid until next June. The rear was serviced at same time the kyb's were installed
Interior is in fair condition...has large tear in butt part of driver's seat, dash pad is cracked in 3 places, ash tray lid doesn't stay on because the clips are broken. It has a carpet dash cover on it now as well as seat covers. There are some stains on the carpet, looks like soda...every little cosmetic problem was already on the car before I bought it. The headliner was recovered with black vinyl and there are no sun visors. The rear hatch has 5% tint.
Here are a couple vids of it running.

I feel your pain. I was selling my SS a few years ago, finally found a buyer, went to drive it around, recharge the battery and make sure everything was good before the guy came and it lost a piston ring. Had to call the guy and tell him to cancel his flight and all that, sold it for way less. Good luck, honestly, I am not even in the market but if you were on the right coast I would buy this.
