Amazing 1996 Chevy Camaro Z28 SS w less than 19,000 org. miles...NOT a TYPO!

**Loads of pictues are located on Craigslist out of Baltimore MD, Harrisburg PA, and Washington DC**

Hello,

I'm selling my incredible condition 1996 Chevy Z28 SS hardtop with less than 19,000 original actual miles! I call her "The Storm Trooper"! And yes, she has the factory optioned Hurst (6) speed. It is "Artic White" in exterior color w "Black Graphite" leather interior. Based on the Internet and Chevy's overall production numbers...this is 1 of a grand total of 73 ever produced in this make, model, and color combination! Extremely rare! A true collector car, not to mention that my car was even on MECUM Auto Auction before out of Florida! Pictures and actual condition are mind blowing! I believe the first person to actually see and hear this car, will buy it...it's that nice! This piece of American muscle has soul. Doesn't even look 5 years old let alone all most 20 years old. Next year in Maryland, this car will be Historic tags eligible too.

THE 1996 CAMARO Z-28 SS -- WAS THE ONLY YEAR MADE WITH THE Z-28 SS DOUBLE BADGE. Mine is 100% original (plus added front shocktower sway bar) with less than 19,000 original miles. LT-1 5.7L 350 small block V-8 with 6 speed manual transmission... Zero to 60 in 4.9 seconds (according to a Car And Driver internet article), Quarter mile in 13.7 seconds at 102 mph, Zero to 100 and back to zero in 19.7 seconds (according to Road & Track magazine). This vehicle marks the return of the SS package and the first cold air functional ram-air induction system that has been seen on a Camaro since the 1969 Cowl induction hood on the '69 Z-28. This helps this car turn out 310 horsepower with 325 pound-feet of torque. Other features on this SS are an upgraded Bose sound system and factory installed subwoofer, Street Legal Performance/SLP Engineering's TOLT (Two Out The Left) exhaust system, Level II Bilstein sport suspension package, Performance lubricants package, Hurst performance shifter, SLP optional Torsen torque sensing limited slip differential with aluminum cover. It has every available option offered by GM and SLP for that year. In 1996, only 2,410 total SS's were built in this first year of this new Z-28 SS. Also in 1996, this was GM's lowest total production numbers for all SS's running through 1996-2002! My car's production number is "622" and is stamped on a center console plaque. Lastly, look at today's general production numbers for current Camaro SS's (they are a dime a dozen), they produce 2,400+ cars in just one color scheme...not in total production numbers for the entire year!!!!

Please keep in mind that this car out performed and was picked over the Cobra Mustang SVT and Pontiac Firebird WS6 for the same year! Please see the below article...

According to the clean CARFAX, I'm the 3rd owner. Always adult-owned and cared for. A true time capsule. My car is currently in Montgomery County, Maryland and I am NOT interested in shipping etc. The car is free and clear w no lien & the title is in hand! I am asking $16,000.00 or your best REASONABLE offer! Please no more low ball offers. If you are interested in seeing, purchasing, or looking at pics of my Z28 SS, please email me at yamahasilverado05@yahoo.com! dumBut please don't waste my time. My goal is to sell this car! This is being SOLD in "AS IS / WHERE IS" condition with absolutely no given or implied warranties or guaranties of any kind. And I'm sorry, but I am not interested in trades please or financing deals. dumThanks regardless and please take care...

To start off with very nice representation of a clean 1996 ZSS. I would offer though that your ad contains a lot of information that is going to be already known by 99% of the people on this site in that it is a F-Body based forum. As well by referencing photos from a craigslist ad you are limiting yourself in really showing of the car on this website. My personal suggestion to really improve this add would be remove the huge amount of text related to what this car is, leave it basic to specifics about "YOUR" car, and include as many detailed pictures as you can. Again though take it for what it is in that its just my opinion but I watch these ads a lot and see what works. Your craigslist ads are good for craigslist in that is more of a general user application.

Now to be even more brutal. I have watched your ads for months now and although I wish LT1 cars had the market for that kind of cash I feel that you may be stretching the bounds if you are actually trying to make a sale within the near timeframe (meaning this year). Reality is your car has 20,000k miles and although low that does not really fit into that peak 1% of the market for "Like New" which is usually <5000K miles but sometimes ball parks up to 10000K. Unfortunately these cars have a very tight market in that there is a very small crowd who desires LT1 cars unless they are cheap. The reality is for your current price range you could situate yourself in a decent LS1 Vette/Firehawk or a very nice lower mileage LS1 WS6/SS so for the vast majority of people just looking to get into a performance car there is absolutely no reason someone would chose an LT car over an LS.

This being said I have seen quite a few low mileage LT SS and WS6 cars that have been sitting in the $10-13k range for over a year. The issue is that their only appealing to die hards that are looking specifically for an LT "Specialty" model (which might I ad is very few and far between). The ones that I actually see selling are those that are in the $7-10K range in that at that price they are appealing to those that would rather buy an clean lower mile LT "Specialty" (SS/WS6) over a ratted out high mileage LS car. With that being said though I have seen a lot more mid-mileage (40-80K) LS1 WS6/SS cars dropping in that $9-10K market which is going to hurt these LT cars even more.

Current market for '98-'00 Camaro SS M6 with <20K miles (2-3 owners) is $12K to $14K....with $13K-$13.5K probably being the right number. That's for a fully maintained car essentially needing nothing upon purchase. There's really very little difference in what a low mileage car is from 1995-2000.
