Brand new built from a 40k mile bare block 250hp 1965 327, machined .030 over to a 331, used virgin un-tocuched 64cc 1965 double hump heads (date matched for those who care) with 1.94 intake and 1.60 exhaust valves (not a typo), I requested the 1.60 exhaust valves, with 1.5 Roller rockers and .550 lift springs with high quality Ferrea valves. Block was balanced to 0, you can literally put a glass of water on the engine and it would idle smooth as butter, it was singing when it was being machined it was a great 40k mile block before it was bored over. The cam is an elgin cam .453 lift 284 duration nice idle, not too aggressive, and won't load up on you. Has new tank sending unit and 3/8th's fuel line all new, so if you want to add more power to it, it'd have lots of fuel to feed it! Edelbrock 1406 600CFM carburetor on it, runs awesome electric choke works very nicely. gets around 18.5-even 20mpg when driving easy.
car made 298rwhp and 430 ft lbs of torque. so its roughly an honest 350HP 327. I don't know the mileage on the engine because the odometer or speedometer in the car hasn't worked since I bought it. (maybe 8,500 miles). Also has an American Eagle 2 row 1'' tubes, Aluminum Radiator with a 160 T-stat and it runs nice and cool!
All other gauges work, original temp gauge works and fuel gauge works as it should. as well as the vintage Stewart Warner Gauges.
The car has a "like new" Borg Warner Super T-10 4 speed on the floor from a 1981 Camaro Z28, took the cover of the case and the gears were literally perfect inside, almost no wear!
And the rear end is a fully rebuilt as of 2,000 miles ago if that, 1958 Oldsmobile 9.3'' 29 spline rear end with a rare, real 1958 posi-traction unit, which works great 3.42 rear gears. New shocks all around.
Power brakes/manual steering. New shocks, all new wiring from the dash forward except for the gauge cluser, but everything lights up nice except for the clock, which isn't hooked up or working.
I installed a Retrosound head unit with new rear deck speakers, and dash speaker. gets nice and loud.
As for chrome its driver quality, front bumper has a scuff here and there, and a chip with surface rust. but the center grille bar is a re-pop but I've kept the original, chrome is very good quality though.
Issues: paint is older probably from the 80's, Rust holes on floor support ends (common on tri five chevy's) original body mounts, and the rear window weather stripping is pretty much no good on the drivers side corner. and the drivers side window is cracked, (doesn't leak, just needs new felts on the track, its the only window on the car that needs them! this is a DRIVER QUALITY car, it is by no means perfect, but its got a ton potential and time already invested into it and quality parts, the body work is the last thing that needs to be done.
electric wipers and heat work great! just had a new heater core installed and the heat blows very hot!
I drove this car to Woodward Avenue in Detroit Michigan last summer and wouldn't hesitate to do it again, this car is absolutely 100% reliable and can be driven anytime at the flick of the key.
I'm asking $23,000 or best offer. you can PM me or reply here for more info or questions and I can give you my number.
I don't need to sell the car or anything so I'm under no pressure to sell it if I don't get the right offer, I've just been thinking about getting into something else.
