6500 is a steal but do you have anyone you know that can help with the smog? PM if you don't feel like sharing that over the net. I had my 99 that I had taken the cats off and played with the exhaust. But when it came smog time, i had to spend a weekend putting all of the smog legal stuff back on. This car wont pass smog with the cam either will it?
Sorry for asking so many questions, its an awesome car. I just would hate to have to go through way more to get it smogged and registered

I know a place. They do same day smog but they take the car for 30 or so minutes. They usually set up a meeting point where one of their own guys come and take the car (the meeting point is usually just up the street from their location, they just don't want the obvious attention). All the guys I know and myself have dealt with them for years.
