98 T/A LS1 For Sale So here's the story : I am in a bad situation... bought this car with plans to build a weekend racer.The car was bone stock, all acc. woked just fine, but I wanted to race so I removed the a/c components from under the hood the back seat and belts, radio, and bought a set of M/T drag radials, HypertechIII Programer, Flowmaster cat back exhaust and a K&N filter and went to the track.
I am the proud father of 6 kids, so I needed to keep it simple. The car developed a slight tick in the upper end , so I took it to a local performance shop to see if they could tell me what was up. They said that I had a bad lifter, and would have to remove the heads to replace it. Being on a limited budget, I didn't have the $3500 they wanted to charge me to do the deed. I'm by no means a master mechanic, but I how to turn a wrench. I pulled the intake and heads off only to discover that the problem was just a knock sensor!
I decided that since I had the heads off, I might as well have them worked over and replace the cam.
Then, of course the worst thing that could happen, did. I had to leave my job and am stuck with half my motor at a shop, with a $1400 bill waiting for me. I need to sell the car to keep up the bills, and 6 kids.
I am taking offers on the car, with or without the heads and cam. If you want the heads and cam I can pick them up at RPM in Nashville for you. If you are not needing the heads and cam, that's fine , I will pay him off and list them seperately in another post.
There is some peeling paint on the front bumper, and 2 tears in the drivers seat, other than that the car is in great shape. I have all parts that I removed, ready to be replaced. Except the heads !
I was going to e-bay the car, but I thought you guys would "appreciate" it more. Just make me an offer, anything reasonable will be considered.
