96' Chevrolet Silverado Ext. Cab 4X4 1996 Chevrolet Silverado K1500.
Located in Frankfort, IL, about 30 minutes south of Chicago.

Selling my 96' Silverado. This is my 3rd vehicle, and since I have just been relocated to Virginia, I no longer need this for transportation. I was going to leave it back in IL for something to drive when I came back in, but if I only come in 3-4 times a year, it doesn't seem worth it. I purchased this truck 1 year ago from my father. He has had it since 1997 with 20K miles. He changed the oil about every 2K miles. The engine is a 5.7L Vortec, runs great and it does not smoke at all. The intake manifold gaskets and water pump were changed about 5 years ago. The trans was rebuilt by Orland transmission about 4 years ago. The rear end gear set was replaced about 6 years ago with factory equipment. There is a small oil leak in which I do not know where it is coming from. It was parked in my driveway for a month and there is a spot of oil the size of a half-dollar under it. Truck starts right up even in the cold weather. Battery is about 1 year old. The 4WD works great in high and low range.
Check engine light is on and I believe the codes are for the 02 Sensors. I wasn't too worried about it.
The tires are old but do have some tread left.
There is some rust on the passengers doors and minor rust forming on the lip of the hood. Other than that, the paint is fairly nice.
The Gray cloth Interior is in good condition. CD player works as well as all other power features including windows, locks, and a/c. May need to be cleaned (I couldn't get to that before I left).
Truck has a plastic bedliner and a soft bed cover. Bed cover is about 3 years old.
Class III hitch. It was used to pull 3 snowmobiles up noth during the winter months. Would have no problem pulling a car and trailer.
All in all, this is a great running truck. I have tried to be as honest and fair in this ad as I can. That being said, I would have no issue with driving this truck across country.
