If you have long tube headers and go with a mild grind like the comp xr275hr you could see 35-45 hp. If the car has many miles a cam swap should also include springs, lifters, pushrods, retainers, valve seals, etc so make sure to factor their cost into the project. The total price can be as much as double the cost of the cam alone.

I'm running ms4 cam with ls6 intake, Pacesetters with true duals with sweet thunders. The car feels very strong 3500 to 6000 rpm, With sticky tires, it just takes off.
I should be shifting around 6800 but, I don't see the need to on the street.
Cam only Ms4 cars seem to make 400 at the wheels, I've yet to dyno mine though.

Would it be worth it? Yes
You don't need an exhaust, but you'll get more power and take advatage of the cam with it and an ls6 and all the other mods.
The most common way people mods these cars are with the basic's in order lid, exhaust, intake, than the cam/heads. Because you can hold off on getting a tune untill the cam comes into place, where as if you did the cam first you would need possibly need a tune to get it running right depending on what size cam you get. If your on a budget I would get a mild 224 cam, springs, pushrods, also get some used 01-02 exhaust manifolds, free mods, untill you get everything else done.
