???
what isn't available from the manufacturer ?
-the t/a and the camaro both had front plate provisions, wheather or not the original dealer chose to put them on or not does not provide valid excuse for YOU not having it on there.
-i HATE front plates and will pay the ticket everytime they cite me, but its like anything else with the police, its one more thing to write you for after catching you for SOMETHING ELSE, i have NEVER been pulled over for not having a front plate by itself - its ALWAYS something else that starts the ball rolling - i have only recieved 1 ticket in all the time ive been driving in cali and it was when i was parked in front of my house and the street sweeper crew called it in.
-and as far as petitions go, call me sour but pick your battles - CALIFORNIA WILL NEVER DROP THE FRONT PLATE, there will be 2 plates in this state forever !!!
-why ? - the automatic license plate recognition systems that are currently in use ( testing in some departments - full force in others )
-moreno valley has 5 cars outfitted with this system right now, and those cars are in 24 hour rotation - and if your car has been parked in the same location more that 5 times in the last year or so ( even with your car in the driveway with only 1 plate visible to the street ) then you are in the system already.
-the police use this for investigations and association lead follow ups, they can track you, people who park at your house, etc etc etc - call it what you want but its real and its happening now
-soon mo val and other cities will have these plate recognition systems at major intersections and all entrances/exits to their respective cities so tracking a wanted plate or AMBER ALERT will be easier than ever, the 5 rolling cars dont require any input from the officer, it alerts the officer when a plates owner has a warrant, suspended license, etc etc
-thank technology
-go enjoy the ocean or something, dont waste your time on a petition of this particular nature

A lot fo people I know have been getting pulled over for tint and no front plate. I live in San Diego and go to school in Azusa. Front plate law debate has been going on for a long time, I think if they were serious about it they would nit pick about, but I have seen cops drive by other cars and they dont do a thing about it.

Just got a ticket for no front plate and rear window tint in Moreno Valley. Since when is rear window tint illegal in CA? I got a tint ticket for my fronts windows 2 weeks ago and the cop told me the rear was fine. The rookie that pulled me over today didn't want to sign off my tint ticket. He also got mad when I told him he must be a rookie since it took him 30 minutes to write a ticket.

Read the second question in this link to CHP's website:

I've got my rear hatch tinted and have never had a problem the 3 years I have lived here.
I signed that petition a long time ago, no front plate here either but I haven't gotten a ticket for it....yet.
