I have been reading up cuz in the future I plan on building my third gen but if it were me I would do a 355ci build. Much more simple than an lsx/t56 or 4l60 swap and its like half the price. Two people on thirdgen.org in the cali. section are making like 370+whp@5800rpm and matching torque and one of them passes smog, dont know about the other one. One through a 700r4, just my 2cents unless you can afford an lsx swap then of course thats the way to go. Better weight distribution, stock you'll easily be making 300+whp(with just a cam you'll be unstoppable)

Not to be picky..but the thirdgen RS wasn't made until '87. What you have is known as a sport coupe, or simply a 1984 camaro.

i doubt a 355 built to 370 hp is "half the price" of an ls swap. my buddies got i think 8 grand invested total (including car) in his mid 11 second sprayed 3rd gen with an LS1/4L60.
