**** PS3 i hate the fact that the gameplay is not the same anymore, back in the days sony was the ****, but now i gotta give it to microsoft(even with their fucked up systems RROD) i love playing it and never gets boring, plus the online playing is wayyyyyyyyyyyy better than sony's. seriously, if your planning on getting the ps3 think about it twice, only reason i would have the ps3 is for the blu-ray player.

The PS3 network is free as of right now for online game play, Microsoft is not.
The PS3's now get the YLOD, yellow light of death. What has appearently happened is that Sony used a ceramic thermo paste on the processors where the heat sinks are, over time the paste dries out, allowing the processors to over heat, which causes the solder to pit and break contact, which causes the PS3 to stop working.
Another thing to consider. ALL new PS3's do NOT have back compatibility anymore. That means you can only play PS3 games, no more PS1 or PS2 games, unless you download them from the Playstation Network.
I have had my 80GB launch model for just over 2 years, bought in fall of 2007 and paid $650 for it. [knocks on wood] I have yet to have the YLOD and I have yet to need any repairs. I just ran out of memory space on the 80GB and have bought a new 500GB drive for it. While I am in there, I am fixing the thermo paste issue so hopefully I will never have the YLOD. I have the last model of back compatibility and I do not want to loose it
