I'd like to start out stock. After some miles start with the typical stuff (i.e. K&N Filter System, Exhaust, Headers, LS6 Intake Manifold).

Tryin to stay with an '01 or '02 with some decent milage...unfortunately due to things beyond my controll, I probably won't be able to make the purchase until later this year. I was thinking around October-ish....maybee late September depending on how things work out.

How far would you drive to look at an F-Bodie. Just a random question...

Well the 01 - 02 f-bodies already come with the ls6 intake manifold unless u plan on upgraded to a fast intake mainfold. F-bodies are getting cheaper and cheaper when time progress so you shouldnt have a problem finding a decent mileage and decent priced one. Plus if you look enough you can find some modded ones aswell.

In all honestly if I were to get another f-body sooner or later. I would definitely travel from coast to coast if it was an extremely good deal. But thats just me.

distance shouldn't matter it's just a road trip ! But make sure you get what you want and not what is okay for the moment.

I travel to Louisiana and Mississippi every month for work and have been keeping my eyes pealed for possibilities. Figure if there was a good deal i could just take a few days vacation and road trip home, route 66 style!

Basically /\ it depends on your taste.

I flew to Orlando to get my 97 and drove it back in 2 days. Then I flew to Cleveland to pick up the 01 and drive it back. It was cheaper then trucking it and a lot more fun.

Figure out what you really want first then search autotrader, ebay, whatever nationwide to find the perfect ride.

But thats just me, sounds like your thinking the same. Good Luck

There is no such thing as a Formula T/A..WS.6's come with a Ram Air hood, 17" wheels, Power steering cooler, Raised Spoiler & Aero Package..So If it's a regular Formula it doesn't have any of this stuff. It will have regular hood, 16" wheels, But same drive train..It's just a looks factor really, they perform the same

So, they have the same HP, Torque, etc?

Does one perform better than the other?

Its all essentially the same, heres a link to all the information between year differences for f-bodies.
Year Differences

And one wouldnt perform better over the other since theyre the same car with different exterior parts. It would be a drivers race if anything.
