Leaving to California in the morning...
Well I am going to Cali with my GF's family for almost 2 weeks in the morning.
As far as I know the area's we are going to be in are: Bakersfield, Merced, Yosemite, San Francisco, and San Diego.
As you can tell we will be driving though alot of little town but I am unsure on what would be cool to go to.
Any places I should check out?
I am interested in almost anything.
There is alot of stuff I would like to list about the places I would like to go but I gotta get some sleep. lol.
Well hope to hear some good input on what to check out.

Wait haunted prison? who was on drugs when they went there? Nothing in the tour suggests it was haunted I have been many times. lol.
There is the Winchester Mystery house in Santa Clara CA not far from SF but it is not that recommended. SF I would say go to pier 39 check that out but fishermans warf may be a possibility just watch out for the horrible smell of fish. Lombard St in San francisco is the super whinedy street and pretty cool. South of San Fran is Santa Cruz which is home of Santa Cruz surf shop then across the street is the Sant Cruz beach boardwalk.
Since I noticed you will be travelling inland not much to check out in Bakersfield but if you go along the coast on highway 1/101 there is hearst castle which is pretty awesome.
SD well there is plenty of bars but on your way there LA has some cool stuff you got Disney Land if you really must go, otherwise there is six flags off the 5 interstate near Santa Clarita on the west side. there is knotts berry farm in the orange county long beach area.
thats all I can think of for now, ohhh and in Sacramento you can hit up the capital building and check out some cali history. Merced well not sure what is there but just more of a place to drive lol. I am sure there is something to do there.

Skip the mentioned Six Flags unless you enjoy standing in line baking. Since you are asking for points of interest, I would have to say Yosemite and San Francisco. Yosemite will have nature along with a million plus years of history to appreciate. You also need to ask yourself if you will ever pass through California. If you might possibly say YES, then avoid the bars and parks and enjoy the sites. Also, do not forget your digital camera and I do not mean a cell phone. Have fun..!!!

He might pass by six flags if he is going to San Diego from Nor Cal. He has to pass through that area, unless they go along the coast in which I suggest stopping in Solvang to Andersons which is supposedly the home of the split pea soup if you like that.
Going down the coast is a great trip there are some cool places to see.

Sorry the late reply guys. I got into Bakersfield lastnight and just crashed out.
So I am here in Bakersfield.
Its so intense seeing palm trees and such large leafs.
Later we are going to leave to Merced later to go visit the family.

In San Diego I like the Gaslamp, Old Town, and the beach. The Gaslamp/downtown is not budget-friendly in my mind. Old Town, a yard of Guiness at O'Hungry's is the way to start the day, and decent Mexican food in the area. I use to hang out at the beach, I'd head to La Jolla Shores if with the kids, around Canes in Mission Beach without the kids, Pacific Beach bars at night.
I only lived down there a few years, but that was my routine.
