do you have good pedal pressure? if not, pump the pedal a **** load of times
ive commonly had to do this after bleeding the clutch

also if you start it in first does the car want to move?

i had the EXACT problem when i slapped a spec stage 3 in my bros car last month. long story short i accidentally mixed up two of the pressure plate bolts with other bolts and they had larger shoulders on them then they were supposed to have. the larger shoulders of the wrong bolts were actually making contact with the disk when fully assembled and consequently not allowing disengagement.i had to retrace my steps completely to find this out.

Might have to shim the slave? Just an idea.

Gil, I'm not sure if someone already posted this, but you need to bench bleed the master. I've been there before!!

You'll have to pull the master out and bleed it by hand.
