Rattling sound in engine
 

Whats up fellas, i have a rattling sound coming from my 01 camaro LS1 engine that I need help identifying. When i start the car, it sounds like a whistle, but when i get to normal operating temp, it sounds like a grinding rattle. Any ideas?

Top end..... bottom end...... back....... front.......metallic.......can you feel vibration........it is progressive with the revs........etc?

Top end front, about were the pulleys are. Stays pretty steady whether at idle, cruising, or all-out hauling ass. Sounds metallic.

U should just post a vid. Much easier.

i dont understand exactly but my ac compressor makes a grind like sound sometimes, could it be a pulley

yea the bearings in the pullies are known for needing to be repacked. there is a thread that shows you how to do that somewhere. I would pull the belts off and see if the sound goes away.
