Moving to San Diego starting business there need info
Hello everyone. I'm moving to San Diego in November. I don't know where. I'm going to start a pool cleaning service. Do people have there pools serviced year round ? Where are the wealthy areas ? Thanks Florida is too hot in the summer and New York is too cold in the winter. Bringing this with me

Well first things first California is going to f you in the a. Expect that it's probably the worst state to start a small business in if you do it legally. I don't know off hand where the rich areas are in sd but most people get their pools serviced year round. Good luck man and bring the lube.

Thanks everyone. I was warned about the cheap labor in the area. I'm going to come out for six months to see whats going on then come back six months later to stay. I don't know what area yet. I'm going to call a pool supply store and ask where are the most pools located. I also do carpet cleaning. Mods are dual cat back no cats, slotted rotars , billstien shocks, 373 gears, shorty headers, shift kit-a4. Thanks for the help.

The cheap labor is a big issue in central cal, so I could only imagine in S.D. I had a old friend that tried to start up a pool service biz in the Fresno area and he actually did ok but eventually as he tried to make a profit the customers all went back to the guys that dont mind working for $80/day. Throw in the IRS, Labor Board, EDD, BOE, and all the frivilous WC lawsuits and its a crapshoot. Hardwork always pays off though and maybe with both of your services you can make it. Good Luck!

Think La Jolla, UTC area, Poway, Carlsbad....
Some places to think about: Ramona isn't a 'wealthy' area but it's hot as crap there and there are definitely some wealthy houses up there..
