is it just me or does anyone see an issue with the separation of church and state with a governmental meeting starting with a prayer?

I am neither a big religious person, nor a big political follower.

As it is written, I agree. But, if the 10 Commandments (maybe 8 of them, if you eliminate God) were not affiliated with religion, instead were law or a guideline to follow, the world wouldn't be too bad.

I do think the eradication of religion is a bad idea the same way I think over-indulgence in religion is bad.

Then again, we tend to cripple our own evolution by what the "founding fathers" wrote hundreds of years ago.

Wow, they're playing the "damging children's health" card. I'm sure a class action lawsuit is in the works. I think another so-cal track is going to bite the dust. If noise is the main concern I wonder if the track could sustain itself by just having street legal or muffler required events.

All I have to say is this....

Take away the very few race tracks we have and you'll be condeeming innocent lives on the streets.
