Default 4th gen V6 drive train in a 1969 GMC. What can I leave out??

I'll be getting a 1969 GMC truck soon. I just want to make it a street friendly driver with a V6. I'm thinking about plucking a V6 from a 4th gen. If I go that way, what can I leave out since I won't have to smog the truck?? Thanks.

Seems like a lot of work. Unless you have a v6 4th gen donor car I really don't see an upside to swapping in that powertrain. After fabb'ing up engine mounts and trans crossmember, custom DS, wiring, and all the plumbing you might wish you would've stuck with a carbed small block. But to answer your question depending on the year of the v6 you can probably delete the cats, egr, air pump, and possibly the ac compressor if your truck was not equipped with ac
