Default Transmission work needed for my 2002 Trans Am near Simi Valley CA

I'm trying to find someone near the Simi Valley CA area to install a TransGo HD2 shift kit in my 2002 Pontiac Firebird/Trans Am. You can P.M. me for details. Any help with this matter is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I have used this shop in Ventura on my Ford truck. Complete rebuild, not cheap, but very good work

http://www.dmctransmissions.com/

Have not heard good things about Leons transmissions

You could ask the place you had the alignment done at. IDK if they do transmission work. That shop does work on several "classic" cars as I suspect you saw when you had your alignment done.

My experience on the Transgo kit...go 2 washers. 3 is like stun unless that is what you are looking for. Just my $.02

Boykin suggested Championship racing in Thousand Oaks. I definitely don't want stun. I know years ago people used to pay around $400-$500 for something like this. Not sure if that's the case anymore. I know they're time consuming to install. Thank you for the help and suggestion.

that shop should be able to quote exactly what they charge to install the Transgo kit. It is a very straight forward modification. They drop the valve body and install the kit

Championship wouldn't give me a price for a completed job. Only thing they could give me is $100 an hour for labor. I usually try to avoid that kind of thing unless someone can give me a close estimate of how many hours it takes to complete. With that you wouldn't know if your into it for $400 or $800. Thank you again for your help. I appreciate it.

I try to avoid places like that even if they do good work. I prefer flat fee quotes.

Still looking. Doesn't have to be a shop just someone knowledgeable enough to do the install.

Thank you for reminding me. I'll give him a call and see if he can do the shift kit.
