Failure to have muffler in Good working order and operating without an emissions device?

Did the vehicle have a muffler?

Having driven many places in the southeast & midwest of US with open cut out in a heads and cam car and never had a ticket or really even a second look from law enforcement. Being mindful of where I'm at and easy with the throttle noise hasn't been an issue in past etc.

What were you doing when cited?

I'd love to have one, I cant build one here as city code is 6'. Would have to get a variance, or get the city involved to put some cash in and do the whole hood. Not being able to hear the tv over the douches out back is getting old.

A minimum of 6 feet and I didn't find anything about not being able to build a sound abatement wall on your own property but what good would that do. Can't have a 10' foot high wall between you and your neighbor when they're only 10' away. That's one of the biggest reasons why I moved out to the sticks but it sure didn't take too long before the masses of people found their way out here. With more people comes more chances for crime and that's one reason why I don't like apartment complexes being constructed near neighborhoods. No matter how expensive they can be to live in the bad elements will continue to call them home.

The 50' to the street in my case is downhill at a 45 degree angle and we don't own the property its a "green space"
Wall would not help in our case, you can hear these bikes for about a mile..

ah that will do it. Zero tolerance for street racing here in AZ. In fact, all a cop has to do is say you were racing and they will take your car. You need to be more careful. Thank the ricers who caused reckless deaths from street racing..

My car is about as loud as it could be with a big cam. I've pulled in between 2 cops before and they did nothing. Leave the fun at wildhorse pass or tuscon.

In response to this Zero Tolerance and taking your car away, anyone caught street racing now runs from the police instead of pulling over and taking the arrest / ticket / suspended license. I will be damned if you are going to take my car. They can issue a warrant for my arrest and I will deal with that, but my car will be firmly lodged in a location where they will not get it.

Had a peace officer eyeball my car the other day as I drove by him at 30mph. He had someone pulled over at the time and I didn't mind the attention. I'll just say that 3" dual exhaust with bullet mufflers is still LAF when you get on the loud pedal but at 60-70 mph in 6th gear has a nice soothing rumble.
