Change in plans for tomorrows Castaic Cruise. I took a recon drive up the planned route for the Castaic cruise, and found the canyon road in terrible shape. Some points are barely passable and there is mud, lots of mud everywhere. My car got filthy in just a few miles. I also found out that the Pyramid Lake observation center is closed, that just won't work.
The new cruise route is Castaic to historic Fillmore down HWY 126, to Giessinger Winery, 365 Santa Clara St. I gave them a visit today and the manager said we could park in their large lot next to the winery, it should hold all the cars. There are many shops, eatery's and historical sights in Fillmore, so we can walk around and enjoy the small downtown area. The winery features wine tasting for $3.00 for 20 wines. The cars stay clean and the cruise down HWY 126 is very nice with the green rolling hills. Getting home is easy from there. There you have it!
