Legal heads and cam upgrade mod Reading alot of post regarding modifying our LS1 and resulting CA getting the strict low down on us. How about cam and head upgrades. Will CA Smog Check ever notice a mild Cam and Head mod? hailing up in the bay area Northen California, what shops are good out there that can install legal cam/heads?

Heads dont really have much of an effect on emissions - its the cam like Ken said. The 224 224 114 is the cam to go with, its been proven to pass with a good tune. Others have had bigger cams pass but that can get kinda sketchy without a dead on tune.
Id do some heads they hve no impact on emissions and roll a TR cheaTR cam, they seem nice

use the vinci/crane "boss" cam if your worried about cam. The a good set of aftermarket heads and some shorties . or thunder racing has the emission friendly cheater setup that requires no headers
