See I didn't know that,.... If your concerned about resale value then an ol 454 built era correct is the route you should take. The LS conversion will not get you the resale value you'd like unless as stated before,....you find the right buyer.

HA thats comedy .NON NUMBERS cars are still big money and there are more "numbers matching" cars than EVER Id do a restamp with a 396...theres no reason to do a SS car for this setup..buy a base malibu and put a bulge hood on that, I love ls1 6 2 etc setups too but I tell ya this it's not right to do a SS, those cars were actually something aside from stickers and hoods unlike the 4th gen SS.If you decide to sell the car let me know your cash number and we will talk, I have a real LS6(454) I could put in.

Hi fellas,

I appreciate all the help i got from this thread. NOW i know for a fact I won't be putting in LS1/2 in this ride. Im going for a 454. YOU are right WHY fu@k up a real SS like that. Once I am able to post pictures here, you will see ,step by step the frame off resto... I am goin to emphasize the suspension and the brakes. BTW where can I get a good tranny to go with the 454? Which one do you guys recommend?

70chevelless is this a 396 in your chevelle at the moment?

NO... I have no tranny or engine right now. That is why I want to get an LS5 or LS6. BUT I do know that my Chevelle came with a 454. WHy do you ask?
