L.A. Area Radio? Rock, Metal?
Who else is sick of the damned stations out here only playing one good song for every 15-20 they actually play? I have an hour commute daily and the damned stations suck ***. They play a bunch of whinny *** semi-emo crap most of the time.
106.7, 98.7, 97.1, 95.5, 93.1, i know there are a couple more.
The talking is entertaining WHEN I'M IN THE MOOD, but mostly i want to listen to a good metal station that plays good music all the time. Anyone know of any good stations? If not, i'm thinking of going Sirius or XM it's only $13/mo.

Nah don't like iPod's. (iPod Killer owner ) Plus nothing beats the random-ness of a true radio station, they have sooo much good **** in their archives i would never think of on my own.

I used to live for the days I went to the office when i worked for a company in Chino. 96.7 Kcal Rocks but west of Covina you lose it.
The Radio in LA is the worst in the country. I have driven cross country quite a bit and these are by far the worst stations anywhere. Also the morning shows suck too! Can't believe in a city full of talent that these hacks are what they choose!
Go satellite I will be doing the same.

LA is Whey too Ghey for anything cool like a good radio Rock/Metal radio station. I say another vote for XM and An I-pod. Since these local (supposedly rock stations) don't support any of my music or anyone that I know of for that matter, maybe if enough people will tart getting XM and I-pod and theses local stations will ether just start listening to their audience or just go away. Rock station like KLOS 95.5 are stuck in a perpetual time warp of 1978. KCAL 96.7 in the inland empire is cool because they play a good mix of new and old stuff. I wish I could get KCAL,The DRIVE or The ROCKout here in LA/OC area. JMO of course.

Sirius listener here. Sure you lose reception in tunnels here and there, but I've always liked the content from Sirius better than XM's content. Get satellite, terrestial radio blows.

Let me being this story by saying that I am anti Apple and anti iPOD. I do, however own an iPOD that I refer to as my 20gb MP3 Changer
I have an Alpine 9851 with the iPOD interface. you can tuck the ipod out of site and control it all via the head unit, remote control (or steering wheel buttons if you have the interface).
I have an old 3rd gen 20gb iPOD. I once did a test. I started my ipod on artists beginning with A and continued, occasionally skipping some songs, but never repeating any. I commute from Temple City/Arcadia to Pacoima every day. I went up to mammoth mountain (5-6 hr drive) and back one weekend. commute every day another week. Mammoth again the following weekend, commute again the next week. Drove to Colorado (Denver, met Byunspeed then to my sisters in Colorado Springs) then down to my buddy's house in Alburquerque, NM. THen back home. When I pulled in, I was Just into the R's.
I usually have the thing on Random, rather than specific playlists (unless im in the mood for a certain type of music) so I have lots of stuff to listen to. I started noticing that I was hitting next track a lot, so one day I just started removing **** that I didnt wan to hear, which just made room for more good music. THe new ipods are like 160gb I believe. Thats one hell of a lot of music!
