just raced a 08 mustang GT hey guys i just came home from racing a 08 GT, he was bone stock car 5 speed, we went from a 25MPH roll 1st gear, i got a bit of a late start, but then we were pretty even but from the top of my 2nd gear i slowly started to pull away then 3rd i started to pull away more and 4th i was gone, i hit about 120, but i only had like 6 cars on him!! i thought i would have been able to eat him alive!! wat gives? is this normal? it was weird that we were pretty equal till 3rd gear! i also noticed that my car dident feel as fast as it usally is today! but do u guys think this is normal?? stock GT??

Well it doesn't look like you have THAT much in the way of power bolt-ons so maybe not that far from what it should've been. 6 cars still isn't bad, man. Last time a new GT got a jump on me on the freeway, it took me till over 100 to start catching up but I freight-trained it by him shortly after 
The new mustang GT's aren't as bad of slouches as the previous 2v 4.6's.

on a side note..alot has to do with the trans;s in this case..your talking 5spd vs your 6spd..u have smaller faster gears than the 5spd..takes him longer to get in the rpm band...and then he runs out of gears.

yea it really surprised me man! the same guy beat a fixed up K20 RSX i think it even had cams! but if the mustang mods his car, lets say cold air and exahust, i think we might be even )=

but just the way how close he was to me when i was in 1st and 2nd worried me a bit! man i thought i was going to jump on him in 1st gear but i dident! my other friends took a video ill try to get it up on youtube!

sometimes my car feel like its not in a mood to mess around, other times it seems very peppy. either way ive never had any problems with mustangs. they have 300 hp at the crank whereas we are rated at 310, but most people are putting 318-325 to the wheels, so we should talk them no problem.

At The Track The Other Day I Lined Up Aginst A New Gt 500 With Minor Mods And Drag Radials....lets Just Say I Was Gone Right Out Of The Line, I Thought He Would Pull Me Up Top, But Nope Never Happend

Good kill i raced one when i was stock and when i had a bad bearing in my clutch so i had to shift slow plus i had a 260lb passanger. He took the hit friom like a 5 roll and we went up till about 75 and i had half a car on him. He also had intake and exhaust on his 06 5 speed manual.

if u got upto 120 an had him by 6ish cars....that equals an *** kicking....yea 1st and 2nd were close...but who cares u pulled on him strongly from what u wrote...dont be surprised...be happy ur car is almost 10 years old and still whooping on new gt's
