Default Anyone wanna help me drop my tanny?

Something happened to the clutch in my 97 SS.
While driving home yesterday, I tried to shift into second and I heard a crack and the clutch pedal dropped to the floor and it stayed there and I couldn't get it to come back up or put the car in neutral. I pulled over and stalled. The pedal came back up but now I can't push it back down.
The car is at the shop right now being diagnosed. Once I know exactly whats wrong, I am going to work on it later today (if the shop finishes diagnosing it today). If anyone wants to help me drop the tranny let me know.

Make sure that the master hose did not pop out of the slave cylinder.

Is it leaking?

Guy at the shop said that my slave cylinder is bad and my clutch needs replacing. He said he can get the parts (clutch kit, slave cylinder, and TO bearing) for $490 by this afternoon. I will be doing the work.
Does that sound like a good deal?

EDIT: Shop told me $490 will get me:
clutch disc
PP
flywheel
slave cylinder
TO bearing

Go for it?

TO bearing

That's not too bad. If you throw in a couple of hundred more you could go with the LS7/LS2 combo, but if you're planning on the invasion this weekend, you don't really have a choice.

I didn't know you could put an LS7 clutch in a LT1, but yeah, car is stock, so I think I will just get the parts from the repair shop. When I rebuild the motor (which needs to happen soon) I will throw in a better clutch. Money, money, money...

Well tranny removal is going to begin at about 6:00pm.
Unfortunately I couldn't get a hold of a resurfaced flywheel...so the install will have to be completed tomorrow. I was hoping to finish tonight. Unless anyone's got a newly resurfaced LT1 flywheel for sale?
I'll be removing the trans and clutch, and replacing the rear main seal in the mean time. First time doing any of this too.
Feel free to give me a call and stop by, I'm in Fullerton.
