LS1 3rd-gen Vert or buy 4th-gen
Just wanted some opinions...
I have a 91 RS Convertible already gutted and I have the complete drive train from a 2002 SS. I have 243's with patriot dual golds, TR224/230/112LSA, TSP oil pump, LS2 chain, push rods etc..., I am getting ready to buy paint for the engine bay and also need a few other things... I am guesstimating about 3 grand to finish my swap and to get it all tuned with exhaust/cutouts/LT's...
Would you suggest keeping what Iv'e got, selling all for 4th gen (+cash), or sell all for down payment on new camaro.
This will be my weekend cruiser

That will be a sweet ride, just get some subframes to hold it together Maybe even jack the hydrolics from a wrecked 4th gen vert for a power top.
Just my .02 but I am vert biased.

IMO, a 3rd Gen convertible Fbody is one of the sexiest bodies out there (biased towards the Black or Red IROC verts, myself).
I also like the tonneau on the 3rd gen better too. I don't understand why GM went with a power top for the 4th gens, but still requires you to get out of the car, open the trunk, pull the tonneau out of the bag and put it on. I liked the ASC designed version better on the 3rd gen, pull the back up, pop up the tonneau, manually put the top down, close the tonneau.
