Some 3D work I've been working on... for a commercial that, if approved, will be aired... they wanted me to make a 3D robotic dog on hover pads lol http://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z...ogMontage1.jpg |
Looks slow. Is this 3D work hard to learn? Or does it just involve a program. |
Usually it's a lot of hard work to learn a 3D/CAD program... :D |
how long did that take to do up |

yea... it takes a lot of practice and memorization... this is my 3rd year using this program... and still haven't even came close to scratching the full potential of the power this program has... http://img509.imageshack.us/img509/2...er01rb7.th.jpg http://img509.imageshack.us/img509/5...er04lf6.th.jpg mmm. rice. When put ingame with the shaders, the body color became very close to SOM. :D |

Yeah.. I used it for almost 3 years (I think? versions 6 through 9) and barely scratched the surface of what it can do. Max is incredibly intricate and very powerful. When I realized that sitting for 8+ hours a day working on a 3d model wasn't my cup o' tea, I drifted away from it... Here's the last thing I was working on before I quit (modified Warthog for Halo) http://img509.imageshack.us/img509/2...er01rb7.th.jpg http://img509.imageshack.us/img509/5...er04lf6.th.jpg mmm. rice. :D Max 8 is the newest one out now as far as I know... i hate when they keep coming out with new versions, then you gotta relearn everything  here's an army tank I did back in the day when I took my first class in it... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cPkeF6cEoR8 |
I used it for a bit in computer animation class is high school. There was one guy that was wicked good with it, made an evo and some other import stuff on it that looked fucking sick! Way close to real life. Me on the other hand I stuck to flash animation and photoshop haha. I did make a fruit bowl for my final project sitting on a table in an empty room :D |
Nice... Way better than anything I could do (never took a class). Keep up the good work, dude. :) P.S. Max versions I know of since version 8: 9, 2008, 2009 (this is the most current one, I believe). We have the latest 3 versions of Max where I work, but the top-notch render guys use Vray and Max 9 on XP64 instead of the latest and greatest. Pretty funny... |

It's also a bummer to hear they are teaching this stuff in high school now... seeing as I have a 100k student loan that I get to pay off after I graduate college :bang: |
I used to teach Bryce 3D in high school. It was a pretty cool program, A little more simple that the program you guys ae using but pretty kool. Im more of a Photoshop man. Been using it for over 8 years and used to teach the computer graphics class in High school. |
