2001 SS worth $8k?
Hey I'm gonna look at a 2001 Camaro SS tomorrow. The used car dealer is asking $8k. it has 106,000 miles. Pics look good. Do you guys think its worth the price. You think its about to fall apart? In one of this pics the SES light is on. The guy said it was for the cats but now its off.

for $3000 more you can get an 00-02 with 60k miles. Or find 00-02 Z28s with 40 for $10,000 or a 98-99 low mile SS for around $10,000.
More than $6000 for anything with over 100k miles is not the best move regardless of what the car is.

Not bad of a price. I just bought an 01 SS with 75k miles for $7,500. The SES light is on also, but I'm going to take it in to the dealer for the Catalytic Conerter Warranty Extension Bulletin # 05513.

For $8,000 you can do much better than a 100k mileage car with SES light 'on'. Move on to a well cared for lower mileage car, not one with unknown issues. Sounds like the classic dealer 'auction' car picked up for cheap $$ unless the dealer can provide verifiable ownership history. Good luck!

$7500.00 is a better price. Don't be scared of the mileage. once you hit 120,000 then you have to replace alternator, radiator. 140.000 to 160,000 you have to replace water pump. Buy the car, you will be very happy. I bought a 98z with 75,000 miles for $5000 but your car is a 2001 SS. $7500.00 Sold. Good luck John

You could probobly find one with 70k miles for about 9 or 9.5...But if you like the car when you look at it and drive it i would offer him 7300 to 7500 And if your good at dealing maybe you could get it cheaper because with cash in hand its hard for them to turn you down especially if they have had it there for a while and they really want to get rid of it. Most dealerships here where i live hate selling sports cars because they are hard to sell due to the fact that young people want them but cant afford insurance. Good luck to you and im sure you will love the car if you decide to buy it judging from the pictures it looks pretty good.
