is 15k a deal for a 2004 v with 70000 miles?
so i have been looking for a v for some time and have came across one for 15000. it needs about 1000-1500 dollars worth of upgrades, (tires, rims painted, anti wheel hop kit, every bushing that goes bad needs to be replaced) and it is still going on the original diff. Is it worth it or should i keep looking? i have a shop to do the repairs in so labor cost is not a issue. there seems to be such a odd price range for the 04-05 Vs ive seen anywere from 14000 to 22000 with not too much difference in miles/condition. any advice is appreciated

At 15k it already sounds like you would be looking at close to 5k worth of work to get things where they should be, so that price may not be too far off. If it still has the original diff and you are looking for a wheel hop kit I would go ahead and do the G-Force 9" or the Creative Steel 8.8" kit that come complete (diff, anti-hop axles, driveshaft, etc). At that point you would have motor and trans mounts left and you would be about 6k into it.

Sounds like an awesome deal. You have to figure, You going to replace the mounts at some point. We're only talking a couple hundred for Creative steel Motor, Trans and diff bushing.
If it has a loud rear end, go with the Creative steel rear end kit.. You at that point, are still under $20k. If the car is in good condition (wear wise) than you still have an awesome deal.

None of those issues sounds too bad. And that price is on the lower end. Maybe see if you can knock another $500 off, but if not and you like the car, it doesn't sound too bad.
It's interesting to me how much regular CTS's sell for (or at least what they ask for around here). I see few/none under $10k. So another $4-5k for Brembos, V8, 6-speed, loaded, and a nice appearance package seems like a deal.

Mine is an 04 with 70k and I wouldn't sell it for anything close to 15k. And mine is still on the original diff so that by itself is not enough reason to replace it. I would say that's a good deal.

I live in knoxville tn. there is a clunk that i believe to be a bushing but i did see some post about the rear end will make a clunk..... there is no whine but a vibration at 90+ i think that is from the bad tires on it, they look like they have the full 70000 on them lol, the shifter is all over the place, it hit the guy in the leg with it as i was going for 6th

Dude, you are in knoxville?! I live in Johnson City. I couldn't find any around our area when I bought mine. I got an 05 out of Nashville with 69k for $18k. I would saw it's a good deal. Have them knock another $500 off or you will walk. Just tell them you know it needs tires & another ~$350 in bushing/mount repairs. If they think they will lose the sale they will do it.

I got an almost identical deal to gabbiani... only had it a week and new ballast has been ordered (a flickering headlight), new short shifter and custom ****, nav update and firmware, next will be all new mounts and diff bushing, and a set of snow tires. It is rare to find a clean CTSV to begin with let alone one that has everything done already.

Funny cause i sold mine 3 weeks ago for around 12.5 with 100k on the clock with most problems fixed lol. Only thing it needed was a new slave it was a little hard to get into first. Keep looking man you can find a better deal than that no reason to buy one with a floppy ...... shifter.
