Higher prices? What's going on? It seems like every time I look for ls1 f bodies they've gone up in price. I know a year ago I would see them much cheaper. Has something happened to make them much more valuable? If so I wish I'd have kept mine. I've noticed that prices seem to be higher on this sight than anything local also, but local prices have been going up too. Has anyone else noticed? Can anyone explain or are people just getting greedier? Just wondering, thanks |
Yes, they are now officially becoming a collector car and that means they are getting their price in sales. Most F bodies in good condition over 10 years old will command a good price now as they are dwindling in availability do to people trashing them in accidents, etc. If you want one, get one now because they will not go down in price anymore. The way it's going right now, a year 2000 WS6 in real good condition will be worth over 45k in another 10 years no problem. |
I've already owned and sold one. I would like to have another one but I wouldn't even consider buying one for some of the prices I'm seeing them for now lol. I'll have to keep my eye on some of the higher priced cars to see if they actually sell. I remember reading more than one article on this site that explained why these cars will never be considered "collector cars". Maybe someone was wrong? |
it will be sometime before this cars are worth any kind of real money, have f bods came up in price i dont think so what so ever, i know you are talking more of a stock car,but there are fully built cars on this sight that you can steal.12 to 14 will get you a near perfect built f body all day, thats not alot at all imo. |
I don't consider them as a collector at all. I also don't feel like the prices have gone up much, if any. |

Here's something else. Top dollar will go to the cars that are real kept up and factory stock. The more "hacking" that is done to these cars will not be attractive to the collector. If someone buys this car for personal pleasure and hot roding around, fine. Don't expect it to resale very well though. |

Owners of heavily modded cars can't get decent money whatsoever. Most modded 100,000+ miles cars sell for well under $10,000 as they should. You want a nice non-abused low miles stock example of any LS1 F-body you will pay good money. I personally think a 10,000 -20,000 miles car that is in excellent condition is a real buy for a price in the mid to high teens. I'd sure buy one before laying out the same money for a new Kia or GM or Ford 4 cylinder bottom feeder. |

some will go up some will go down. I think the only f bodies that will be worth anything decent in the future, will be 100% stock, low mileage camaro SS or ws6. I cant see a modded z28 or formula worth much. In other words, the f-bodies that are currently worth over 10k right now, might be worth more later on if kept in collectors condition. |
I've definitely seen an increase in prices, but it may just be because the values of used cars all seem to be up right now. |
I've been looking a little more today and have come across some pretty decent deals. You all are right though, built cars with lots of money sunk into them are going very cheap. |

It is true that deals like this existed in the past but new cars are getting so high right now that more and more people are thinking of the excellent used car choice, more so than ever. |
Just felt like bringing an old thread back from the dead. This trend is still going on. Still seeing ls1 f bodies priced above normal kbb values. Seems they're getting more and more desirable maybe ? |
Not that anyone really uses KBB for these cars anymore but book value on my 2000z28 with under 60k went up roughly $1.3k from last March. A little over the 9k mark in good condition and approchi the 10k mark in excellent condition now. Glad I held on to it and didn't sell it for pennies last Spring.. |
From the cars I and friends have bought over the past 2 years or so on the boards... Most will take up to 2K$ less than what the advertise. I have no idea why people advertise so high if they will come down so low. The prices have raised around 1,000$ in the past year for some reason but the people that know these aren't fucking collector cars will still sell them for what they are really worth. A low mileage BPM formula hard top M6 bare options etc garage kept with 1X,000 miles.. Yea... A black on black M6 fully loaded Ws6, no. |
