What's It Worth? '01 WS6...

Year: 2001
Model: Trans Am WS6
Trans: 6 speed - Hurst Edition
Miles: 144,000
Exterior: Black with painted royal blue ram air stripes
Interior: Black leather
Wheels: Stock
Random: Currently has OR-Y, which I will be removing and putting back to stock. Motor is stock with an SLP lid. Exhaust is a Borla catback which may be changed to a Flowmaster or stock. Assuming the car runs great, and NADA is showing $10,600 retail, what's it worth in the real world?

I'm surprised NADA lists the car so high with that high mileage. In the 'real world' you will be in the $6,000 - $7,500 neighborhood with a possibility of $8,000 on a really good day if the car is really impressive to someone. Potential buyers will be looking at 'private party' values, and this price range is most likely the one they will see. They will also see a trade-in value in the $5,000 area so they know you can't get much for the car. It puts you in a tough spot but GLWS!!

Thanks! Car resale values are pretty good in this area, so I'm thinking that's the reasoning behind their value estimates. It does ask for zip code for that reason I assume.

I forgot I can look at completed auctions on eBay motors:

Make/Model: 2000 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am WS6 Coupe 2-Door 5.7L
Location: Adairsville, GA
Miles: 139,000
23 Bids
Sold: $7,600.00 End Date:Jun-30 08:40

Same color, 1 year older than mine, looks in identical shape. It was an Automatic though, figure my M6 would fetch more.

That's a good example you posted from ebay. Spot on the money! Like I said in my earlier post, you might just get that $8,000. Your car sure looks good in that photo.
