Default 96 Impala SS ls1 swap

I bought this car as a non running project but the ls1 and 4l60e were already swapped in. The wiring was a mess and turned out the swap was NOT done correctly but I'm having it done right by a good shop out of Mesa Az. The impala itself has around 120K miles and is an original Az car with ZERO rust and is nice and straight other than the usual door dings. Could use paint as the Az sun has had its way with it and the interior is complete just needs the front seats recovered, dash has a couple of cracks in it but is covered up now as you can see in the pics. Will also need tires as these are pretty dry now from sitting outside.

I have 8500 in it now would I be crazy to ask that much out of it? Opinions?

Unfortunately that is way too much. Look what you can get for money that is rather close to that. Just a few examples (with lower mileage and really decent) from Autotrader. There are many more just like these.

Thx for your input but that really isn't a good comparison as those cars are stock lt1 equipped. This car is an lsx swap

... and very few will care. You really think the LS swap is going to bring the big bucks for your car when you can have one of the examples I posted above?? Sorry to disappoint you but I have serious doubts. You'll see, unfortunately.
